Wednesday October 8th at 7:00PM
Join Metropolitan Opera Singer Valerian Ruminski for OPERA EXPOSED, an evening of song and untold stories from his 30+ years of performing in opera houses around the world as he takes you backstage dispelling the popular sentiment of the stiff upper lip of the opera genre. Valerian maps out his musical journey starting with his favorite childhood songs as well as seldom heard music he learned at the Academy of Vocal Arts (the scholarship only AVA) from early baroque and Handel through Mozart and the classical age into Bel Canto arias with the melodies of Puccini, Verdi and Donizetti. He also reveals the beginning of his love for Broadway with Rodgers and Hammerstein and the jazz creations of Cole Porter and George Gershwin. Musical accompaniment on the piano by Coachella Valley favorite Joel Baker.
